Andy Lau will not be throwing a baby shower and has plans to thank family and friends who congratulated them on the arrival of their baby girl with vegetarian ginger and vinegar treats.
On May 9, after Carol Zhu gave birth to a baby girl, Andy withheld information of his child and did not release any photos of the newborn or reveal the name of his baby.
Andy decided to skip the customary baby shower as he is worried that things might get inconvenient for his family in future should he expose the newborn to members of the public. Friends who want to see the baby girl have to visit Andy?s residence but the actor has been careful with his invites and only a handful of close friends have received invitations so far.
To share his joy, the 50-year-old Heavenly King employed a company to prepare traditional gifts such as ginger and vinegar products which will be delivered to friends and family. As the couple are devout Buddhists, they opted to order from a vegetarian company and will not include pork trotters as part of the gifts.
Andy also applied for a 10-day-long leave from his company and was said to have stayed at home fulfill his husband and fatherly duties. The father of one has been learning the ropes of changing diapers for his baby girl and even helped to shower the newborn.
